For Parents

We have seen a gap in children’s literature where mysteries used to be. Once upon a time, there was the Famous Five, the Secret Seven, The Meg Mysteries, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden, along with stand-alone mysteries for children to read and try to beat the sleuths to the solution. This genre has shrunk significantly since many of us were children and we want to see young readers puzzling and problem-solving again.

The books are also intended to be read aloud and enjoyed as audiobooks. Parents will love reading these books and creating voices, while readers who struggle with text will find the audiobooks an excellent literacy support.

The Nosy Wiener Detective Agency is situated in the heart of the idyllic town of Waggleford, where the only things hurt are feelings. This world is intended to be gentler and more inclusive for our readers with bad behaviour receiving restorative justice based on communication, taking responsibility and rehabilitation. The community in Waggleford relies on shared values to keep everyone safe and well. None of the crimes in the mysteries cause serious or lasting harm to any characters, however justice is always served.
